Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This English text is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Slovak version of this document prevails.

This policy explains what data the QR Code Generator website (the “site”) processes and how your privacy is protected. It follows Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on personal data protection.

1. Data controller

The site is operated by Matúš Šturdík, sole trader registered in the Slovak Trade Register, Company ID (IČO) 51628163. Contact: info@qrko.net.

2. What data we process

The site is designed to collect only what is strictly necessary:

  • Whatever you type into the generator (a link, text, Wi-Fi details, contact details) is processed entirely inside your browser. This data is never sent to a server and never stored.
  • Pictures you add to the QR code reader are read entirely inside your browser as well. They are never uploaded and never stored.
  • Your cookie choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage), not on a server.
  • Contact form data — if you write to us through the form on the Contact page, we process your name, email address and the text of your message, solely in order to reply. Using the form is voluntary and relies on the consent you give by ticking the box before sending. You may withdraw that consent at any time by email; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
  • Server technical data — the hosting provider may automatically process standard logs (such as IP address and browser type) for operational and security purposes. The hosting provider processes this data as a separate entity.

3. Purpose and legal basis

PurposeLegal basis
Running and securing the site (server logs)Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Storing your cookie choiceConsent / legitimate interest
Replying to a contact form messageConsent of the data subject (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Cookieless traffic measurementLegitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Advertising (Adsterra)Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

4. Traffic measurement

For a basic overview of traffic we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This service stores no cookies or other identifiers on your device, builds no visitor profile and does not track you across websites. It collects only aggregate data such as page views, country, browser type and referring page. Your IP address is used solely to determine the country and is not retained.

Because this measurement does not access anything stored on your device, it does not require cookie consent and relies on the operator's legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may object to this processing at the contact address above.

5. Advertising

This site displays advertising through the Adsterra ad network (Native Banner and Social Bar formats). These ads are not shown on the Contact page. The network may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and measure their performance.

Advertising tools load only after you give consent through the cookie bar. If you do not consent, they are not loaded. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser data.

Adsterra, as the provider of this service, acts as a separate controller or processor and handles data under its own policies — see the Adsterra privacy policy and Adsterra cookie policy.

Google AdSense may be added in the future. If so, this section will be updated accordingly.

6. Recipients of data

The site does not actively share personal data with third parties beyond what is needed to operate it. Technical processing may occur at the hosting provider. The Adsterra network is a recipient of advertising-related data, but only to the extent you have consented, and never on the Contact page.

Messages sent through the contact form are not passed to any external form-handling service. They are processed directly by this website's own server and delivered as an email to our mailbox. Both the server and the mailbox are operated by our hosting provider, which acts as a processor.

7. Retention

Data entered into the generator and pictures added to the QR code reader are not retained at all. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it or clear your browser data.

Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, normally no longer than 12 months. You can request deletion at any time by email.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority — the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (dataprotection.gov.sk).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page together with the date it was last updated.
